Surprising 3000-Yr-Old Pharaoh Ramses II Discovered In One Of The Cairo Slum

About a week ago, a huge discovery by a group of German and Egyptian archaeologist. A 3000 yrs old statue of Pharaoh Ramses discovered in Cairo slum of Matariya submerged in groundwater. The recovered statue is 8 meters in length and completely made in quartzite.

Along with Ramses II statue is a partial statue of Pharaoh Seti II (Ramses grandson) and pieces of obelisk. Ramses II has been the greatest Pharaoh to rule Egypt and with this discoveries, it can tell the story of the glory days of Egypt empire.

A group of team is already working to restore the artifact and expected to be displayed at Grand Egyptian Museum that will be opened in 2018.
