Children’s contribution to the modelling world are becoming more and more distinct overtime. Named as “The most beautiful girl in the world”, Thylane Blondeau’s childhood days are much more than fame and popularity. She was born Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau to a French celebrity parents, her dad, Patrick Blondeau is a football star athlete and mom Veronika Loubry is an actress.
Thylane, according to some was born to be a model. With those piercing blue eyes, her face projects a stunning woman with all the opportunity to capture the spotlight.
In 2004, at the early age of four, she started modelling and walks on the runway for French designer Jean Paul Gaultier in 2005. She definitely had earned so much public attention then.
In 2011, along with her early popularity, is a worldwide photo controversy when she does photo shoot for an editorial in the “Vogue Paris” magazine at the age of ten. Dressed luxuriously with an extensive makeup unbefitting to a girl of her age, Thylane virtuously poses before the flickering camera.
The photos became the center of negative criticisms from people and sectors around the globe. In some countries, it is highly prohibited the use of models below 16 years old to walk the catwalk. Fashion world for them is too sensitive for children.
The publisher as well as Thylane’s parents were subjected to public scrutiny and condemnation. Psychologist Emma Grey said, “This picture is the antithesis of what childhood in our society should be; a child being exposed to a world she is not yet equipped to deal solely to serve the needs of the adults around her.
Despite of the bundle criticisms, Thylane decided to pursue her chosen career. Criticisms that somehow pushed her name on the top. Although of course, because of her young age, she was not given that chance to express her personal sentiment regarding the issue.
Years of controversy was never a big issue for her. This stunning controversial model had in fact ramped her way to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival modestly dressed up with black mullet gown properly paired with black velvet sandals.
For almost 17 years in the modelling industry, Thylane had rooted deeply and still branching out for the world to know that criticisms can’t stop her journey. To quote her saying, “My favorite part of the job is meeting new photographers and makeup artists. I love to try on the clothes, too!.”
